A brighter way to do the holidays.

Navigating your first alcohol-free holiday season? Or ready to drink less and do the holidays differently this year?

Sober & Bright is a live group coaching program designed to help you prepare for the holidays, navigate the difficult moments, and actually enjoy the season, without alcohol taking up so much space.

Maybe this will be your first sober Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Eve.

Maybe you've done sober holidays before, but you'd like more support this year.

Or maybe you're not planning to quit drinking completely. You just want to drink less, feel more in control, and be more present for the season.

The holidays can feel different without alcohol.

For a lot of us, drinking gets woven into the holidays.

The parties. The family gatherings. The travel. The stress. The traditions. The awkward conversations. The celebration. The loneliness. The people we love, and the people who push every button we have.

So when you decide not to drink, or even to drink less, you're not simply changing what's in your glass.

You're learning how to navigate all of those moments differently.

That's what Sober & Bright is about.

This isn't about avoiding the holidays until January.

It's about learning how to show up for them in a way that feels good to you.

Planning for the season

We'll look ahead at parties, travel, family gatherings, traditions, and other situations where alcohol might normally play a role—and make a plan before you're in the middle of them.

Cravings, triggers & old patterns

You'll learn to recognize what makes you want to drink, understand what alcohol may be doing for you in those moments, and practice other ways of responding.

Family, boundaries & communication

We'll talk about navigating difficult relationships, setting boundaries, asking for what you need, and dealing with people who may not understand the changes you're making.

Creating holidays you enjoy

This isn't just about removing alcohol. We'll explore what you want to add, connection, rest, fun, traditions, presence, and experiences that make the season feel good.

When it doesn't go according to plan

One drink, one night, or one difficult moment doesn't have to define the rest of your holiday season. We'll focus on learning, adjusting, and deciding what you want to do next.

What comes next

At the end of the season, we'll look at what you learned about yourself and your drinking, and help you decide what you'd like to carry into the new year.

Imagine looking back at the holidays

You laughed. You celebrated. You connected with people you love. You enjoyed the food, the traditions, the lights, the parties, and those little moments that make the season feel special.

And somewhere along the way, you realized that not drinking (or drinking less) didn't take something away from the holidays.

It gave you more room to actually enjoy them.

Hi, I'm Austin

This will be my 12th holiday season sober, and the third time I've led Sober & Bright.

I know what it's like to head into the holidays wondering what they're going to look like without drinking. The parties, family gatherings, traditions, travel, stress, and even the celebrations themselves can feel different when alcohol has always been part of them.

Over the years, I've found ways to navigate the holidays without alcohol, and, more importantly, to actually enjoy them. Through the first two Sober & Bright groups, I've had the chance to help other people figure out what works for them too.

Today, I coach people who want to change their relationship with alcohol, and I'm also an adjunct professor teaching about addiction, behavior change, and harm reduction.

Sober & Bright brings everything together: my own experience, what I've learned from working with others, and practical tools for changing behavior.

This holiday season can be one filled with joy, excitement, and less stress (and less drinking).

Whether your goal is to be alcohol-free this season or simply drink less, we'll help you figure out how you want to navigate the holidays, and make a plan to do it.

FROM THE LAST TWO ROUNDS

"

Thank you Austin and the amazing group of people! ♥️ All of it was really helpful though throughout this season.

"

Sober and Bright really opened my eyes that there are many tools and strategies to aid in staying sober. I can honestly say, each and every call gave me a timely piece to the puzzle to resist triggers in which I gave into in previous times I tried quitting.

"

I loved being a part of this group! It was so impactful to realize that something so simple, such as wrapping gifts, could be a trigger.

What's Included

Evidence, Not Just Advice

There's a lot of advice out there about how to “get through” the holidays without drinking. Sober & Bright goes deeper. We'll use evidence from neuroscience, psychology, and behavior-change research to understand what's actually happening, and build strategies around what we know helps people change.

Nine Live Group Coaching Sessions

Throughout November and December, we'll meet to talk about what's actually happening in your life. Bring your questions, challenges, wins, and difficult moments and get coaching and support as you navigate them.

More Than Holiday Drinking Tips

I built Sober & Bright from the ground up for the real challenges that come with changing your drinking during the holidays. Everything we use, from the planning process to the tools and exercises, is designed to help you understand your own patterns and figure out what actually works for you.

Support Throughout the Season

Between meetings, our small private community gives you a place to check in, ask questions, share a win, or talk through a difficult moment with people who understand what you're doing.

Whether you're preparing for your first sober holiday season, you've been alcohol-free for a while, or you simply want to drink less and be more present this year, Sober & Bright is here to help you do the holidays differently.

Nine weeks, live, in a small group — Monday evenings, hosted in Circle.

BEFORE YOU DECIDE

A few honest answers

Do I have to be sober to join?

No. Some people will be planning an alcohol-free holiday season. Others may want to drink less or more intentionally. You don't need to make a decision about forever, or even have your goal completely figured out before you join.

What if I miss a session?

It's the holidays, we know life gets busy. All of the group sessions will be recorded, so if you can't make one live, you can catch up when it works for you. You'll also stay connected through the community between sessions.

What if I drink during the program?

That's okay. Sober & Bright isn't built around perfection, streaks, or starting over. Whether your goal is alcohol-free or drinking less, we'll focus on what you're learning, what you want, and what helps you move in that direction.

What if the holidays are really hard for me?

The holidays aren't joyful for everyone. They can bring grief, loneliness, family conflict, financial stress, complicated relationships, or simply a lot of pressure to feel a certain way. Sober & Bright makes room for all of that. The goal isn't to force a happy holiday, it's to help you navigate the season in a way that feels better for you.

What if I don't like the program?

I want you to feel good about joining Sober & Bright. Come to the first session, experience the program, and see what you think. If it isn't the right fit, just let me know within 7 days of the program starting and I'll refund your payment. No awkward conversation or convincing you to stay.

Rethink your drinking this holiday season.
